The Salzburger Kunstverein is a space in which to analyse art, art theory, and cultural policy in Salzburg. The Kunstverein offers the opportunity to meet artists and encounter current trends in contemporary visual art. Our program focuses on the lively discourse between artists in all areas and with the public. The Künstlerhaus building, owned by the Salzburger Kunstverein, houses three different exhibition areas and 21 ateliers for artists and art initiatives. For more information see this website.
Responsibilities:
• Design and execute exhibitions and events
• Publish catalogues and other publications
• Manage the Salzburger Kunstverein and the Künstlerhaus (including the artists and art initiatives’ studios)
• Fundraising
Requirements:
• Degree in art history or equivalent qualifications
• Curatorial experience
• Excellent knowledge of contemporary art
• Management experience
• Leadership skills and ability to work in a team
• Residence in Salzburg
• Excellent organization and communication skills
We offer a five year contract with the possibility for renewal
Your written application should include a CV, a list of published works, a photo, copies of certificates, references, and your vision of how you would design the program (maximum of about two A4 pages) and shall be sent

Hooray! gold extra won the Outstanding Artist Award in the category of Interdisciplinary Art! The Ministry of Arts and Culture of the Federal Government of Austria awards new distinguished artists with this prize. gold extra has been awarded namely for their game “Frontiers” which deals with flight and migration. The award ceremony will be held in Vienna at September, 5th and prizes will be awarded by the minister Claudia Schmied.
At present gold extra is doing research and projects in the Netherlands, Scotland, Kenya and Uganda - we can start to be excited about their shows next year!
